RYAN LEWIS TO RACE CREATION AIM AT SILVERSTONE
Ryan Lewis is back in the UK this week, preparing to compete in the ‘Autosport 1000km of Silverstone', the final round of the 2008 Le Mans Series. The British driver who only made his sportscar debut a few weeks ago in the American Le Mans Series has teamed up with Creation AIM for the UK round of the Le Mans Series this weekend.
Ryan will be partnering South African racer, Stephen Simpson, and the duo will be out to show what they can do in a top prototype racing car.
“This is a great opportunity for me,†said Ryan. “I'm having a lot of fun in the States in the Intersport Lola but racing with Creation will add another dimension to my new career in sportscars. Creation is a successful and professional team and I think I will learn a lot from them. I'm also very much looking forward to racing at Silverstone again as it has been a long time. I love it in America but I'm very excited to be racing at home this weekend so I am very grateful to Mike Jankowski for the chance to race one of his cars.â€
The Le Mans Series takes to the track this Friday at 1pm for the first of three free practice sessions. The six-hour race gets underway on Sunday lunchtime.
After the Silverstone race Ryan will return to the USA for the next round of the American Le Mans Series: Petit Le Mans on 4 October.
