Ryan Lewis was deprived of his 11th pole position of the season in qualifying for Round 17 of the Avon Tyres British Formula 3 Scholarship at Silverstone today, the 20 year-old just missing out by 8/100ths of a second. After setting a time over a second quicker than his main rival yesterday, the reigning FPA champion struggled with oversteer in this morning's 30 minute session.
“I didn't have a good balance in the car today,” said Ryan. “There's been a big change in conditions from yesterday, which has affected things a lot and we've now got a lot of high speed oversteer which has made the car not particularly compliant! It's a bit disappointing really and very frustrating, but we'll have a look at the data and make the necessary changes for this afternoon's second qualifying.”
The second session takes place at 15.35 this afternoon, with the two 15 lap races on Sunday at 10.05 and 15.15.
