FPA Champion eyes up F3 drive in 2004

Ryan Lewis, 2003 Formula Palmer Audi Champion is currently in talks with several leading Formula 3 teams as he considers his options for 2004. The Royston, Hertfordshire teenager, who recently had a successful test with Team SYR, is seriously considering competing in next year's Scholarship class in the British series.

Despite being just 19, Ryan impressed in his first full F3 test with Team SYR at Donington Park last week, and is now keen to move into the series next year. “Things went really well last week, I was surprised how easy it was to adapt from the FPA car and I feel I could produce a good showing in the series next year.”

“I think the F3 car suits my driving style now, I settled in well into the FPA car and am really pleased with the results we achieved, not least eight podium finishes and of course the title. Now I'm ready to move onto the next step, which must be Formula 3.”
