Ryan Lewis eased to his second victory of the series with a masterful display in the tenth round of the Visma Software Formula Palmer Audi Championship at Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium today. From the front row, the 19 year-old matched pole-sitter Adam Smith off the line and passed his main series rival through the Eau Rouge corner to pull away to a 2.6 second advantage at the flag.
“That was a great race, “ said a delighted Ryan at the flag. “It's great to have won here at Spa this weekend, to win on a Grand Prix circuit, as I did at Monza and in front of all these people is amazing. The Spa track is mega, definitely my favourite now, from the minute we arrived here the whole atmosphere is awesome and I can understand now why so many people love it.”
“I made a great start in the race and got past Adam at Eau Rouge, after that I was able to pull away comfortably. The track was pretty much dry but for a few wet patches and we had the perfect set-up. It's really close now going into the last two rounds but to have another win under my belt is a real confidence boost.”
Ryan's second win of the season, together with six runner-up spots gives him an eight point advantage over Smith with two rounds remaining, at Castle Combe on September 13/14.
